I'm very excited about the latest Personal Space in Playstation Home North America. This is Sony Pictures re-interpretation of the iconic Stahl House in the Hollywood Hills. The real Stahl House was built in 1959 as part of the Case Study house program. It is known officially as Case Study House #22. It was designed by architect Pierre Koenig. All the case study houses helped define mid-century modern housing. And this one has been featured in many motion pictures, TV shows, commercials and photo shoots. LOOT (Sony Pictures for PS Home) has taken some license by creating additional pool/patio space beyond the cantilevered living room and by adding the basement home theater with modernist grand stair entrance. The only big drawbacks to me are the constant bombardment of Sony Pictures ads in this space. The TV and the Home Theater are really cool...but you are stuck with Sony ads or Sony movie trailers only. And they have more ads...on the TV at the entrance...and there is even a Sony Pictures blimp (where's that SAM I got to to take out the biplane on Santorini? hmmmm) What I do really like is the Tiki theme of the Home Theater...my favorite part is the beads over the left and right sides of the entrance! And it's really cool to zoom in...and have the screen fill my own Home Theater projector on my wall! Now if we can just get Sony to allow us to upload video...or rent movies or Netflix to our Home space...dreams, dreams, dreams.
