Microsoft lifted the curtain on Illumiroom at CES 2013. This tech seems to fall in line with the leaked "Next Xbox" documents that were uncovered by ComputerandVideogames.com. IllumiRoom will work by using your traditional TV set with a Kinect plugged into the next Xbox console and a projector. Speculation is the projector might be mounted on the ceiling but no details on the set up have been revealed so its very early and honestly its anyone's guess. My understanding is that Kinect detects where the player is in relation to the rest of the environment to create the traditional controller experience while also integrating the capability of the Kinect.
