Smartboard problems - Video misalignment Video Clips. Duration : 5.72 Mins.

The SMART UF55 projector with default settings will regularly and frequently misdetect the left edge of the video signal, which pushes the screen over about 1.5 inches to the right of where it should be. This means the touch alignment is wrong at startup, so staff recalibrate the board to this wrong video alignment. If for some reason the video resolution is changed or the refresh rate is changing the projector will suddenly align the video image correctly on the screen. BUT this now means the previous touch alignment is now wrong because the video is right, so the board must be re-realigned. On reboot of the computer... oh, the video left edge is midetected again. Time to realign the touchscreen YET AGAIN. Arrrrrrrggghhhh! This problem affects many different video cards and many similar UF55 projectors purchased in the last year. I think the UF55 series is just plain defective overall. We've had many other brands of projectors over the years such as Epson, InFocus, Sharp, Panasonic, etc and I have never seen any other projector do this. Hopefully it can be fixed with a firmware update, but I have never seen this mentioned anywhere else.
